ACT Diagnostic Test with Performance Analysis

Establishing a Baseline

Welcome!

It is important to establish a baseline, so your first step to success is to complete a full-length diagnostic exam.

We recommended that you complete this exam in one sitting, taking about 3 hrs. and 30 minutes.

If you are unable to complete the test in one sitting, then consider doing two sections at the same time or each section at different times.

OVERVIEW OF THE ACT TEST:

  1. Complete the English Section:  You have 45 minutes to complete this section.
  2. Complete the Math Section:  You have 60 minutes to complete this section.
  3. Complete the Reading Section:  You have 35 minutes to complete this section.
  4. Complete the Science Section:  You have 35 minutes to complete this section.

PRINT YOUR ANSWER SHEET AND SCALE SCORE SHEET:

First, print your answer sheet and scale score sheet.  You will need your answer sheet to fill-in your answers for each section.  You will need the scale score sheet to convert your raw score to your scaled score upon completion of each section.

HOW TO COMPLETE A SECTION TEST:

Let’s walk through the steps to complete the first section of your test, the English Section Test.

Step 1:  Click on “English Section – Practice Test #1” below in the “Quizzes” section to begin the English section.

Step 2:  Once you have clicked on “English Section – Practice Test #1,” download and print the English section test.

Step 3:  Once you have completed the section test or your 45 minutes is finished, click on  “start quiz” for “English Section – Practice Test #1” and enter your answer responses into the system.

Step 4:  Once you have entered your answers into the system, click “finish quiz.”  The system will auto-grade your section test.  You will receive your raw score – the number of questions you answered correctly for the section test – and the percentage of each question type you earned.  At this point, you will also have the ability to view which questions you got correct or incorrect, which option was the correct answer, and the question type for each question.  You also have the ability to go back and review these results using the advanced analytics available from your course table of contents.

Complete this same process for the math, reading, and science sections.

That’s it.  Let’s get started on the first section!
